
Robert Shorten is a Professor of Cyber-physical Systems at Imperial College London. He has worked for both Daimler-Benz Research and IBM Research (where he led in Smart Cities). His research interests include Smart Mobility and Smart Cities; Control Theory and Dynamics; Hybrid Dynamical Systems; Networking; Linear Algebra; and Collaborative Consumption. A prior member of the IEEE Control Systems Society Technical Group on Smart Cities and the IFAC Technical Committees for Automotive Control. Professor Shorten is the author of several books, including Electric and Plug-in Vehicle Networks: Optimisation and Control (CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group, 2017).
