Madeleine Orr is a Visiting Professor at FIA University and Assistant Professor of Sport Ecology at the University of Toronto. She is the founder of the Sport Ecology Group, a global network driving climate action in sport through research and engagement. Her work examines the sport sector’s vulnerability to climate risks and its strategies for adaptation, resilience, and sustainability. Madeleine partners with industry on ESG strategy, sustainable event planning, and climate risk assessments. She previously held academic posts at Loughborough University and UBC, where she developed the first MSc in Sustainable Sport Business. Her book Warming Up (2024) was named a Top 5 Sports Book by The Guardian, reinforcing her leadership in sport and climate research.
