Purpose

The FIA University is regarded as the leading authority in the world for the accreditation, education and research into global motorsport and mobility. Advancing the mission of the University, designed to support the FIA as a knowledge-led Federation, it offers a range of innovative, industry-focussed education programmes and pursues a research agenda that sets the FIA apart as both a generator of empirical research and a body that actively disseminates such findings.

History

The FIA University was inaugurated for the first time in December 2011. The project grew in 2012 based on the expectations and demands of our Member Organisations. By 2013, the delivery of two Emerging Leaders Programmes in Barcelona and the Strategic Lobbying Programme in The Hague developed the FIA University in a pronounced manner. Since 2014 new global and regional programmes have been developed in Latin America, Asia and Australia. The creation of an FIA University Board was approved by the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism (WCAMT) in May 2017 and a new Board appointed to serve between 2022 to 2025 under the Presidency of Dr Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President.
