Overview

As of July 2025, the platform hosts more than 88,000 digitised pages and 1,200+ published documents, with the broader archive comprising over two million documents. These include historic records, competition protocols, regulatory updates, technical reports, and rare artefacts such as the original Acte Fondateur from 1904. The project has grown through close collaboration between FIA departments and digitisation specialists, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of these invaluable materials.

Expanding Access and Global Collaboration

Access and Use

The E-Library is currently accessible to FIA Member Clubs, with full public access scheduled to coincide with the FIA’s 120th anniversary. Scholars, researchers, journalists, and motorsport enthusiasts will be able to search and explore these digitised resources online, enhancing academic research and historical understanding.

The platform also supports FIA University’s academic and training programmes, providing direct access to primary sources for course development, white papers, and postgraduate research. Applications are open for postgraduate researchers wishing to conduct on-site archival work at FIA facilities in Valleiry, France.

Collaborative Contribution

FIA Member Clubs are invited to enrich the E-Library by contributing documents, research, and archival material, supporting a collective effort to preserve and disseminate the shared history of global mobility and sport.

Future Development

The E-Library will continue to grow, with regular additions and curated highlights. A Max Mosley Memorial Library is also being established in Paris as a dedicated physical space for archival research and engagement.
