A key mission of FIA University is to offer education programmes that allow its clubs and members to enhance their knowledge and develop professionally to better support the delivery of services and events. Committed to ongoing innovation and ensuring its programmes remain cutting-edge, FIA University has designed and delivered a new FIA Advanced Leadership programme in Geneva/ Chamonix from September 23rd to 27th.
A total of 25 middle and senior managers from 15 FIA Clubs were selected for the programme, following a competitive application process, and were joined on the week-long course by 5 colleagues from the FIA.
The intensive executive education programme saw an array of global academic experts from some of the world’s leading Universities, including the University of London, ESSEC Business School, France and Stanford University, USA, and the key leaders from the FIA with responsibility for sustainability (Sara Mariani), communications and public affairs (Luke Skipper), commercial development (Craig Edmondson), performance management (Julius Renk) and legal affairs (Paul O’Dowd) amongst others, come together to offer detailed, research-informed, and contemporary coverage of the key leadership qualities that the FIA University is seeking to foster.
Course participants also heard from FIA Secretary-General for Sport, Valerio Iachizzi, and FIA Secretary-General for Mobility, Jacob Bangsgaard, and had the opportunity to network directly with colleagues from clubs across the FIA membership, including Australia, Canada and South Africa, to promote a ‘community of practice’.
The FIA University aims to promote knowledge, research and training across the Federation, and by collaborating with key stakeholders across the FIA’s network, it continues to expand and develop as an important aspect of FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s mission for the FIA.
